F.A.Q
What is a community interest company?
A community interest company, often referred to as a CIC, is a unique type of organisation that is renowned for being not-for-profit. This means that its primary objective is not to make money in the traditional sense, but rather to create benefits for the community and address various social issues, much like a charity. CICs are designed to ensure that the profits they do make are reinvested to further their community-focused aims, which can include enhancing local facilities, aiding vulnerable groups, and contributing positively to society as a whole. By adhering to these principles, CICs help bridge gaps where traditional profit-driven enterprises may not meet local needs.
